  1. So I see West with AK of H and Q of S for 9hcp and either has A of D and/or Q of C. If have both they started with 15 hcp and a lousy 5 card spade suit. If I were west with 15hcp and a 5/2/3/3 hand (Qxxxx. AK. Axx. Qxx I would have opened 1nt). I will lead the last H and ruff with the J/T, play the A of c and the J/T of club and finesse. Assuming it holds will lead a low D to my hand and play the K and 9 if necessary of trump. I might try to evaluate playing the K of spades before the diamond sluffing a D – if East ruffs in no harm no foul.

  2. Small to the A. Then finesse the J and ten. East passed twice. West should have the Q.

    1. If you play small to A of clubs and then lead J clubs for a finesse, you are finessing East, i.e. the one who passed twice?
