Right Start Solutions–Hand Two

Here was the original problem:

You lead A♥️.  Dummy plays 4♥️, partner plays 6♥️, and declarer (East) plays 2♥️.
What is your plan for the ♥️ suit?

Solution–
You will need to decide how to continue the ♥️s [either now or after leading your singleton 5♦️].

The only ♥️ remaining in the North and East is Q♥️.  Leading a small ♥️ to the second ♥️ trick should work regardless of who has Q♥️.  If partner has Q♥️ then declarer can ruff it, but you still have K♥️ for dummy’s J♥️.  If declarer has Q♥️ then partner can ruff and you still have dummy’s J♥️ covered.  If instead you play K♥️ to the second ♥️ trick then you will set up dummy’s J♥️ and gain nothing.
Here was the entire deal:

When this hand was played, six out of seven South’s cashed K♥️ on the second ♥️ trick, setting up J♥️ as the critical eighth trick for East/West.  The one South who got this right scored a 73% board.
